Installing outdoor cables inside of buildings
May outdoor cables be installed inside of buildings? What is written in the standards?
Installing outdoor cables inside of buildings is restricted by the standards.
ISO/IEC 14763-2:2019-12 (chapter 7.7.1.1.2) specifies that telecommunications cables that do not comply with the national or local fire regulations or the minimum recommended performance requirements of the standard IEC 60332-1-2 can be installed for a length of up to 2 m (unless an alternative distance is specified by local regulations). For longer lengths, the cable has to be installed within a cable management system that meets the requirements of a fire barrier in accordance with the local fire regulations
